Medical personnel contacted the Jackson County Department of Human Resources about the baby's injuries being consistent with those of shaken baby syndrome, according to Lt. Scott Matthews of the Scottsboro Police Department's investigations division, and DHR then contacted Scottsboro police.
Rose was brought in for questioning Saturday afternoon, Matthews said, and after being questioned, he was arrested.
Rose is now in the Jackson County Jail on a $100,000 bond, Matthews said.
The incident happened Friday evening, Matthews said, and the infant was taken by private vehicle to Highlands Medical Center in Scottsboro. The boy was later transferred to Huntsville Hospital, where he's being treated in the neo-natal ICU, Matthews said.
