Mobile man indicted on charges of sexually abusing 2 young boys

MOBILE, Al
A 27-year-old man was booked today on a Mobile County grand jury indictment charging him with sexually abusing 2 young boys, the Mobile County District Attorney's Office said.
Matthew Coffey Kemp
Matthew Coffey Kemp of Mobile was charged with 2 counts of sexual abuse of a child under 12 and 1 count of indecent exposure, according to records at Mobile County Metro Jail.
Kemp was booked shortly after 1 p.m. and was released on bail totaling $18,000 about an hour and a half later, the jail records show.
Assistant District Attorney Nikki Patterson said that the victims were both under age 5 when the incidents occurred, and that one is a family member.
Patterson said the first incident took place about 2 years ago, but the parents decided not to take action at the time, opting to do so once the 2nd incident occurred a few months ago.
Online court and jail records indicate Kemp has a previous arrest on a 1st-degree sexual abuse charge in 2007, in connection with an incident that happened Sept. 1, 2006. A Mobile County grand jury later in 2007 did not return an indictment against Kemp, the court records show.
