Fairfield Councilman Primus Mack turns himself in to Jefferson County Jail to face harassment charge

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama
Primus Gregory Mack
A Fairfield councilman, pastor and day care owner was booked into and released from the Jefferson County Jail today after being charged with harassment of a female juvenile relative.
Primus Gregory Mack, 56, turned himself in to authorities this morning and was booked into the jail about 10:47 a.m. on the misdemeanor charge, according to the jail log. He posted $1,000 bond about 4:05 p.m., authorities said.
Mack, who represents District 2 in Fairfield, was accused by a female juvenile relative of groping and kissing her on June 5 while the two were at his home on Valley Road. Mack runs a day care, Ivory's Day Care, from the same location, and is the pastor at Saint Mark Baptist Church in Birmingham's Wylam community.
Mack's attorney, Calvin Biggers, called the claims against his client "baseless" and said Mack welcomes the opportunity to appear in court and clear his name.
