MOBILE, Alabama
Mobile County law enforcement officials gathered Tuesday at the Mobile Regional Senior Center to introduce a program which will provide crucial information during an automobile crash or other emergency.
Participants in the Yellow Dot program receive a “Yellow Dot” decal, a folder and a form with the participant’s name, photo, emergency contact information, name of personal physician, medical conditions, recent surgeries, allergies and medications being used.
A vehicle owner places a yellow decal on the driver’s side rear window that will alert first responders to check in the glove compartment for the corresponding folder.
In case of a crash, the information helps first responders positively identify the person, get in touch with family or emergency contacts and ensures that the person’s current medications and pre-existing medical conditions are considered when treatment is administered.
The program is a free service provided to individuals of all ages. For more information call 251-574-6397 or online at www.mobileso.com.
