Bessemer police say two teenagers were hit by gunfire when a car pulled up to a group of young people and a gunman opened fire, killing one of the teens.
Police said the teenager died after being taken to UAB Hospital in Birmingham.
Authorities say the other teenager who was hit was taken to a hospital with a gunshot wound to the ankle and is expected to survive.
Police say the shooting happened around 5 p.m. Sunday, when a grey Toyota Camry pulled up to the group of teens when someone in the car opened fire.
Police were searching for suspects late Sunday.
