The heart attack patient who was in an ambulance that overturned Tuesday morning is said to be stable and at a local hospital after the crash.
According to Montgomery Police Department spokesperson Martha Eanhardt, a private vehicle crashed into the Prattville Fire Department ambulance around 11 a.m. in the intersection of Rosa Parks and East South Boulevard in Montgomery, causing the emergency vehicle -- which did have its lights and sirens on -- to overturn and land on its side.
Police say three Fire Department employees were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. The heart attack patient is in stable condition at Baptist South Medical Center.
Earnhardt said that the crash is still under investigation but no charges against the driver of the personal vehicle are expected.
