Dothan police responded to a critical firearm assault at 3551 Napier Field Road shortly after 3 p.m. Monday, but Sgt. Rachel David confirmed the victim is suffering from a laceration to the head. Early conflicting reports, stemming from witness reports, said the victim was shot.
Several witnesses on the scene told police that at least two men were involved in an altercation during which a gun shot was reportedly heard. Afterwards, witnesses saw the victim with a bleeding head injury, which led them to report the injury as a gunshot wound.
Police are investigating the case as an assault.
