Tropical Storm Lee could give Wiregrass 1-2 inches of rain

The National Weather Service in Tallahassee has increased its rainfall forecast for the Wiregrass.

Forecasters previously predicted rainfall amounts of between one-half and three-quarters of an inch for most locations in the Wiregrass. However, the most recent forecast calls for rainfall amounts of between one and two inches Sunday.

Chances of rain remain for Sunday night (70 percent), Labor Day (70 percent) and Labor Day evening (50 percent).

Forecasters with the National Weather Service also said they could not rule out the possibility of some localized flash flooding, although the greatest risk of flash flooding and river flooding remains in the Florida Panhandle. The Wiregrass, however, is not currently under a flash flood watch. A threat of isolated tornadoes remains also, but no watch has been issued.

Small craft advisories remain in effect for coastal waters from Apalachicola, Fla., to Destin, Fla.
