BIRMINGHAM, Al.
Four people were arrested on prostitution charges today at a Birmingham spa, police announced.
Sgt.  Johnny Williams of the Birmingham Police Department said one arrest was  on a charge of operating a house of prostitution. Three other arrests  were made on charges residing in a house of prostitution.
The  arrests were made just after noon at the Super Sauna Spa at 9019 Parkway  East. The arrests were "a result of a long-term investigation,"  Williams said in a news release.
The department is also working  with U.S. Immigration Customs Enforcement to determine  the immigration  status of the females at the spa and assisting with "any human  trafficking issues that may arise," Williams said.  
The names of the suspects were not immediately released.
