Police had spotted the vehicle Story was driving leaving a mobile home park and recognized him as a revoked driver, Auburn Police Division Chief Tommy Dawson said.
Welch, a passenger in the vehicle, was behaving suspiciously, and upon a search by the officer, was discovered to have approximately 46 grams of crack cocaine in a bag stuffed down the side of one of the rain boot-type shoes he was wearing, Dawson said. Welch also had a small quantity of marijuana in his shoe.
Welch has been charged with trafficking cocaine and second-degree possession of marijuana.
Story was arrested on failure to appear warrants from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Dawson said.

“This is a good drug arrest, and we’re very pleased to get that amount of crack cocaine off the street,” Dawson said.
