A fatal church van accident Sunday afternoon left one 9-year-old dead.
The accident at the intersection of South Court Street and South Street killed Joy Carlisle.
Carlisle was riding in the Compassion 21 van, which is used on Sundays by the Inner City Church of Christ to take people to and from services. The van collided with a 1997 Pontiac Grand Am.
The driver of the car was treated at the hospital for minor injuries and cited by police for not having a drivers license or proof of insurance.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
