Suspect in custody following morning robbery at CB&T Bank in Opelika

OPELIKA, Al.
Opelika police have arrested a man in connection with a bank robbery at the CB&T Bank on Gateway Drive around 10 a.m.
Crime logoPolice say 23-year-old Augusta Dean Webster, of Montgomery, walked into the bank wearing a mask and gloves and demanded money from one of the tellers. The suspect left the bank with the money, and officers chased him down in a wooded area. A mask, gloves and an undisclosed amount of money was found on Webster when he was arrested.
Webster has been charged with first-degree robbery and is being held in the Lee County Detention Facility.
