Jefferson County Coroner's Office waiting to match fingerprints on body found in Leeds for positive ID

LEEDS, Al.
Authorities say they have identified the man whose body was found in Leeds on Saturday, but the Jefferson County Coroner's Office is awaiting a  fingerprint match for a positive identification before releasing the man's name.
Leeds police are seeking information regarding the death of a man whose body was found  lying close to U.S. 78 between Leeds and Irondale .
The discovery of the body, near the Shops of Grand River, was reported about 4:30 p.m. Saturday, a police department spokesman said.
 No arrests had been made as of this morning in the case, in which police have said they suspect foul play.Deputy Jefferson County Coroner Bill Yates said that the man did not have any identification on him when his body was found. Authorities have notified the family of the man, but the coroner's office is waiting on fingerprint comparisons, he said.

Authorities have declined to say how the man may have died.
