DECATUR, Al.
A man was killed Saturday afternoon in an industrial accident when a wheel he was working on blew apart, according to Decatur police.
Decatur Fire & Rescue received an emergency call from TCI Tire Inc., 1061 McEntire Lane, just before 2 p.m. When paramedics arrived, they found 50-year-old Joseph Andrew Sparks dead in the parking lot.
Sparks was working on a tire for a piece of industrial equipment when the tire's wheel blew apart, striking Sparks and killing him instantly.
The death has been ruled an accident by Decatur police.
