MOBILE, Al.
Two homeless men who police said helped themselves to food and alcohol inside a parked motorhome near the Mobile Mystics parade Saturday afternoon were arrested, spokeswoman Ashley Rains said.
Peter Peterman, 51,                                     Nicholas Scarseth, 28
Peter Peterman, 51, and Nicholas Scarseth, 28, each were charged with unlawful breaking and entering, according to records at Mobile County Metro Jail. Both men remained today in Mobile County Metro Jail on $3,000 bail, with a hearing set for Wednesday morning in Mobile County District Court, according to jail records.
Rains said that witnesses at the parade told police about 3:30 p.m. of 2 men who were inside the motorhome, which was in the 100 block of Government Street. The witnesses told police the owner was not present, Rains said.
Peterman was arrested at the scene, Rains said, while Scarseth was detained after a brief chase.
Online jail records indicate that Peterman has been charged 6 times on misdemeanor charges since Sept. 11, 2011, including public intoxication, criminal trespass and failure to obey charges.
Scarseth does not have a previous arrest record in Mobile County, according to the jail records. A past public intoxication case in Conecuh County indicated that Scarseth previously lived in Minneapolis, according to the court records.
