An Albertville man has been arrested and charged with rape of a young girl, according to Boaz Police Chief Terry Davis.
James Diego Juan Gomez, 19, was charged Wednesday with second-degree rape, second-degree sodomy and traveling to meet a 12-year-old girl for an unlawful sex act in the Mountainboro area of Boaz.
Warrants were obtained in Etowah County because the alleged rape occurred in the Etowah County portion of Boaz.
A $150,000 cash bond was set.
