Jerrel Jernigan of Eufaula is a Super Bowl champion

For the second time this year Eufaula can boast that it is the home town of a National Champion. Eufaula native Jerrel Jernigan and the New York Giants squeaked past the New England Patriots by a score of 21-17 to win NFL's Super Bowl 46.
In Super Bowl 46, played this evening in Indianapolis, Jernigan, a kickoff returner had three kickoff returns for 69 yards, including a 34-yard return in the third quarter. The 34-yard return was the longest NFL return for Jernigan who is in his first year of his NFL career.
The first Eufaula National Champion this year was Courtney Upshaw of the Alabama Crimson Tide.
