Albertville man arrested after disturbances at three different homes

Jimmy Roy Rodgers Jr
ALBERTVILLE, Al
An Albertville man is being held without bond this morning after being accused of causing disturbances at three different homes in Marshall County overnight.

Sheriff Scott Walls said Jimmy Roy Rodgers Jr., 25, of 248 Anthony Road, Albertville, was taken into custody this morning after numerous complaints.

Deputies were investigating a complaint concerning Rodgers at Anthony Road in the Alder Springs community just after midnight Sunday night when they were called to Sharon Circle, where Rodgers was accused of assaulted a man, Walls said.

Walls said the victim at Sharon Circle told deputies that Rodgers assaulted him and pulled a knife on him before running away. While at the Sharon Circle residence, officers heard gunfire behind another residence where at least six shots were fired, Walls said.

They discovered a .22 caliber rifle with blood on it and found Rodgers moments later hiding in a wooded area. Rodgers, who was bleeding, had minor cuts and abrasions to his hands, "probably from running through briars in the woods," said Walls.

Rodgers was charged with menacing, reckless endangerment and public intoxication. Walls said bond will be set later today.
