Lillian man free on bail in connection with shooting

LILLIAN, Al.
A 50-year-old man is free on $10,000 bail today after being charged with shooting an acquaintance in a drunken quarrel late Monday.

Jail records show Norman Russell Willis of Zeena Drive in Lillian was released after officers charged him with felony assault in connection with a shooting at his residence.
Investigators said Willis began arguing with James Owens, and the argument ended in a shooting at about 9:30 p.m. Monday. Lowery said Willis shot Owens in the chest, and the injured man was transported to Baptist Hospital in Pensacola. Lowery said Willis was charged with first-degree assault.
Investigators said Owens was recovering in the hospital today.
