BREAKING NEWS: Body of missing Barbour County man believed to be recovered

BARBOUR COUNTY, AL.
 Barbour County Sheriff Leroy Upshaw has confirmed that a body has been found in Barbour County in the woods off Sutton Diary Road. Barbour County Coroner Chip Chapman says remains of a black man were found around 8 PM and they are believed to be those of Willie Pugh, although the positive identity of the body has not been established at this time.

Sheriff Upshaw said they could not confirm the identity of the deceased at this time, but did confirm the body found was a death from foul play. The area where the body was found has been secured as a crime scene and Forensic evidence is being recovered from the scene at this time.
 The body will be transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences Lab in Montgomery this morning where a autopsy will be completed and forensic evidence will be recovered and the Forensic Medical Examiner will make positive identification of the body.
The Barbour County Sheriff's Office suspended the search for Pugh, who was reported missing on January 14 last week, but continued to investigate his whereabouts.
 Assisting the Barbour County Sheriff Department in the search of Willie Pugh for over a week has been multiple agencies, to include the air unit of Dale County Sheriff Department. Also volunteer agencies from Henry County Rescue Unit, Regional Land and Water Rescue, Liberty County Florida Search and Rescue, Wausau Search and Rescue, and Debbie Goebels K-9.
 Barbour County Sheriff Investigators continue their investigation into the case and we'll have the latest information as soon as it becomes available .
