UPDATED: Henry Co. homeowner found dead

Headland, Al.
A Henry County homeowner is dead this morning after he caught someone around his barn and confronted the suspect. Preliminary information, says the homesowner called 911 and reported that he had caught someone stealing his farm equipment. When officers arrived they found the homeowner, 46 year old Mike Johnson dead. The property was a family farm business, Johnson Hay Farm, where Johnson had been going to hunt.
 Investigators from Headland Police and Henry County - Abbeville Task Force  responded to the County Road 83 scene as did Headland Police Chief Mark Jones and Henry County Sheriff Will Maddox.
Henry County Coroner Derek Wright was also dispatched to the scene. Wright said a firearm recovered from the scene belonged to Johnson. He said police are working to establish whether this was the weapon used to kill Johnson.  Johnson was a lifelong Henry County resident and had just been married a few weeks before the shooting. Wright said he was living in Dothan with his new wife and remodeling property at the County Road 83 address and planned to reside there.
The information we received stated the homeowner was killed with a gunshot wound to the chest. There is no word as to weather a suspect has been identified.
Henry County Sheriff Will Maddox, asked Houston County Sheriff Andy Hughes to dispatch the Regional Crime Scene Unit, which he did. Hughes also sent two investigators to assist with crime scene investigation.
3500 block of County Road 83 runs off Highway 134 north of Headland.
