Alabama-based Virginia College began classes in Columbus on Monday, joining a burgeoning for-profit education presence in the west Georgia city.
The campus is the 20th location for Birmingham-based Virginia College.
Officials of the for-profit college say that as of Monday, 237 students had completed the enrollment process at the Columbus campus, while it had accepted the applications of 165 others.
Virginia College also recently launched campuses in Savannah, Ga., and Richmond, Va.
