Two arrested in Loachapoka shooting of theft suspect

Lee Co., Al.
Two men have been arrested and a third is sought in connection with the shooting of an Auburn man last week in Loachapoka.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office seeks to serve an assault warrant against Henry Tarvale Finley, 27, of Auburn. Finley is described as a black male, 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 290 pounds, and having black hair and brown eyes, LCSO chief investigator Capt. Van Jackson said.
Ladextric Jones, shooting victim
Apollo D. Jackson, 24, and Antaevious Jamone Stinson, 25, both of Auburn, were arrested and charged with first-degree assault in connection with the Sept. 28 shooting of Ladextric M. Jones, 21.
Jones was transported to the East Alabama Medical Center last week after sustaining gunshot injuries to both his legs in the area of Lee Road 4 in Loachapoka.
Apollo Jackson was taken into custody at 6:25 p.m. Sunday after surrendering to deputies at the LCSO, Capt. Jackson said.
Stinson, who was already in custody on other charges, was charged additionally with first-degree assault on Thursday, Capt. Jackson said.
Both Apollo Jackson and Stinson’s bonds on the first-degree assault charges were set at $10,000 each. Stinson has since posted bond and been released, while Apollo Jackson is currently being held at the Lee County Detention Center, Capt. Jackson said.
Capt. Jackson said the shooting appears to be related to a previous incident between the men. No weapons have been recovered, he said.
Jones was indicted on a charge of second-degree theft of property for an alleged copper theft at an Auburn business on West Veterans Boulevard in June. He was also indicted on a separate charge of possession of a forged instrument.
Jones’ arraignment is scheduled for Thursday with possible trial dates in the criminal term beginning Oct. 31.
Anyone with information about Finley’s whereabouts is asked to contact Lee County Crime Stoppers at 1-888-522-7847.
