Investigators: Suspicious circumstances spark investigation of Hummer fire in Mobile

MOBILE, Al.
The Mobile Fire-Rescue Department is investigating the cause of a vehicle fire it says appears to have started under suspicious circumstances.
The fire happened early Tuesday morning at 1714 Colonial Oaks Drive, according to a release from Public Information Officer Steve Huffman. It says a report of a vehicle on fire threatening a structure was called in around 4:17 a.m. Firefighters arriving on the scene found a Hummer H2 fully engulfed with fire, about 25 feet from the residence, according to the release.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze and stopped it from reaching the structure, the release says.
It continues that the owner of the vehicle told fire investigators he had parked the vehicle around 3 a.m. and had not been experiencing any issues with it.
The cause remains under investigation. There were no injuries reported in the incident.
