The Tuscaloosa Police Department and the Alabama Air National Guard are looking for the owner of a Purple Heart medal found in a tornado-affected area around Tuscaloosa.
A National Guard member found the medal, which has the name Amos H. McDonald on it.
"The National Guard has researched the name and it matched a veteran that died in a battle from WWII and was buried in an American Cemetery in France," Tuscaloosa Police Sgt. Brent Blankley said in a statement.
Anyone with information about the medal can contact Blankley at (205) 248-4845.
