Teens steal, damage $4,000 worth of technology from Boaz Elementary School

BOAZ, Alabama
Two 14-year-old boys are accused of stealing or ruining $4,000 worth of cameras and computers from Boaz Elementary School last week.
The boys, whose names were not released because of their ages, were arrested Friday in connection with the burglary of the school on Labor Day, Police Chief Terry Davis said today.
Investigator Capt. Scott Farish said the items not recovered at the scene were thrown into a creek just across the Blount County line near Snead. The teenagers face charges of third-degree, first-degree theft and third-degree criminal mischief.
Farish said the boys were released to their parents after their arrest, but juvenile petitions will be obtained later this week.
