Police arrest 2 men for crimes involving children in LaFayette

LAFAYETTE, Alabama – LaFayette police have arrested two men for allegedly committing crimes involving children.
Reports state that Michael D. Jenkins, 39, of Opelika, was arrested Sept. 12 for unlawful possession of child pornography, and Jerry Leverette, 50, of LaFayette was arrested Sept. 7 for enticing a child and indecent exposure.
Both men were taken to the Chambers County Detention Facility. Jenkins made his $10,000 bail the same day, as did Leverette, whose bail was $27,500.
