Prattville man arrested after woman, juvenile wounded in shooting

A Sept. 9 shooting on County Road 113 in Prattville left a mother and a juvenile wounded.

Carlton McCary, 49, of Prattville, is accused of shooting a pistol after an argument with Shonda Louise Deramus, 34, of Prattville. The shots struck Deramus and the youth, according to the Autauga County Sheriff's Department.

Both were taken to Baptist Medical Center South for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers found McCary hiding in a wooded area. He was arrested and taken to the Autauga Metro Jail and held on no bond.

Chief Deputy Joe Sedinger said the investigation continues.
