Dothan, Al.Oscar Cruz, Hispanic Male, 42 years of age, Carranca Luis, Hispanic Male, 49 years of age, Leonardo Ramos-Chavez, Hispanic Male, 40 years of age, and Dulce Adriana Macias, Hispanic Female, 32 years of age were all arrested and charged with First Degree Possession of Marijuana.
A Hispanic Male Juvenile, 17 years of age was also arrested and charged with First Degree Possession of Marijuana and transported to the Diversion Center.
On January 11, 2012 the Dothan Police Department Narcotics Unit served a search warrant in conjunction with an ongoing investigation at a private room at the Dothan Motor Lodge. Upon arrival, police found the room occupied by three Hispanic males, one Hispanic female, and one Hispanic male juvenile (17 years of age). A search of the room and the suspects' vehicles produced approximately two ounces of marijuana packaged for sale and U.S. currency. All five room occupants were arrested for Possession of Marijuana. Investigators requested an Immigration Alien Query on all five suspects and are currently awaiting confirmation of their immigration status. Investigators say U.S. Currency, a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe, and a Ford F-350 were seized in addition to the narcotics collected as evidence. Bond was set at $15,000 for Dulce Adriana Macias, the female and will be set at a later date for the remaining suspects.
