Gulf Shores man arrested for possession of child pornography

GULF SHORES, Al.
A Gulf Shores man was charged with possession of child pornography Monday.
Ronald Morrell Clower
Ronald Morrell Clower, 70, was arrested after someone known to him alerted Gulf Shores Police to the pornographic material, said Lt. Bill Cowan, a GSPD spokesman.
"It's bad, but not an aggravated case," Cowan said. "This gentlemen had some child pornography on his home computer. There was no physical contact with minors. He was not producing. As best we can tell, this is a simple possession case."
Forensics specialists are checking to see if the computer has more images than what was initially found, Cowan said.
"As is so often the case, especially when there's electronic devices involved, the investigation is ongoing," he said. "It takes a while to go through all those things."
Clower remained in the Baldwin County Corrections Center on $25,000 bail as of this afternoon, according to jail records.
Morrell is scheduled for a status hearing on Jan. 27. He has no previous felony charges, according to jail records.
