House keeper arrested for theft

Dothan, Al.
Tammy Beasley Cornog, white female, 40 years of age, of Opel Road was arrested and charged with First Degree Theft of Property with a $30,000 bond.

On December 7, 2011 the Dothan Police Department responded to a theft of jewelry at a residence located in the 3100 block of Foxridge Road. The victim filed the complaint stating a number of expensive jewelry pieces were missing from her home. The victim went on to state the home was secure at the time of the theft and only accessed by her house keeper, Tammy Cornog. The suspect denied any involvement in the theft when questioned by police in December. Cornog was released after questioning; however investigators pursued the case from different angles until finally securing enough evidence to link Cornog to the theft. Police say several of the reported items have now been recovered and Cornog has been charged with felony theft.

Investigators say the case remains open and further charges may be pending. Police have recovered several items of jewelry believed to be stolen by Cornog from additional victims. Police have learned that Cornog has routinely worked as a house keeper and are hoping additional victims may come forward to press charges and claim their property following the release of this information. If you have employed Cornog and believe you may have been a victim of theft, please call Investigator Cook at the Dothan Police Department 334-615-4655.
