Former Foley magistrate arrested on sex abuse charge

FOLEY, Alabama 
Bischoff
of sexual abuse, officials reported today.
Joseph Fredrick Bischoff, 64, of Foley, is accused of inappropriately touching a girl under the age of 16, according to Maj. Anthony Lowery, spokesman for the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office.
Bischoff turned himself in to authorities Tuesday, Lowery said. Bischoff was booked into the Baldwin County Corrections Center in Bay Minette shortly after 8 p.m. on a charge of second-degree sexual abuse. He has been released on $6,000 bail, according to jail records.
The girl was a family friend, he said.
The investigation is ongoing and officials are looking for more possible victims, Lowery said.
