Chickasaw Street man charged with Third Degree Robbery

Roderick Jernigan, black male, 27 years of age, of Chickasaw Street was arrested and charged with Third Degree Robbery with bond being established later today. 

On November 25, 2011 the Dothan Police Department responded to an armed robbery in progress at Regions Bank (4203 Ross Clark Circle) at 10:30 p.m. The victim told the 911 operator he was attempting to make a cash drop from a local business when he was tackled by the suspect who snatched the money bag and fled on foot. As the call was being broadcast, an alert patrolman in the vicinity saw the suspect running and immediately pursued him taking him into custody. Police recovered the cash bag and arrested the suspect for robbery.
