Registration for Baldwin County Youth Dove Hunt Now Open

Montgomery, Al.
Taking a youth hunting is a positive way to help ensure the future of Alabama’s rich hunting heritage.  The Alabama Division of Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries (WFF) encourages all adult hunters to share quality time with a youth in the great outdoors.  One way to share quality time with a child is to participate in Alabama’s youth dove hunts.
Registration is currently underway for the Youth Dove Hunt in Baldwin County on December 10, 2011. Register online at https://youthhunts.dcnr.alabama.gov/dove/ or call the WFF district five office at 251-626-5474.
Pre-registration is necessary for all youth dove hunts. Hunt schedules and registration information is available in the hunting section of www.outdooralabama.com.
To participate in the hunts, youth hunters must be age 15 or younger and accompanied by an adult at least 25 years old (or a parent) who holds a valid state hunting license and a Harvest Information Program (HIP) stamp. Before each hunt, a short welcome session with reminders on hunting safety will be conducted. All hunters are encouraged to wear eye protection and earplugs.
The Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources promotes wise stewardship, management and enjoyment of Alabama’s natural resources through five divisions: Marine Police, Marine Resources, State Parks, State Lands, and Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries.
