THREE SUSPECTS ARRESTED; TWO CHARGED WITH ROBBERY 1ST DEGREE

On Friday morning December 30, 2011, investigators with the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office developed information regarding individuals wanted in a series of armed robberies throughout Tuscaloosa County in several different jurisdictions. Arrest warrants were obtained on the individuals. Investigators from the Tuscaloosa Police Department, Coaling Police Department, and a Deputy Sheriff assigned to the US Marshal’s Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force joined the investigation as the day progressed. At approximately 6 PM Friday evening a Sheriff’s Deputy and the Coaling Police Chief spotted a vehicle in Alberta City believed to have one of the suspects inside. After a request for backup, numerous Officers from the agencies previously listed responded and stopped the vehicle on 26thAve East, South of University Blvd.

Kesharn Lykendrick Battle, B/M 20 years of age, 2300 Block of 10th Street East Tuscaloosa was arrested for Robbery 1st Degree and Possession of Marijuana 1st Degree. Terrelle Devonte Williams B/M, 23 years of age, 800 Block of 21st Ave. East Tuscaloosa was also arrested at the scene for Possession of Marijuana 1ST Degree.

Unrelated to the traffic stop, Trevon Diante Battle B/M , 18 years of age was arrested by Deputies and Police Officers a few minutes later at his residence in the 2300 Block of 10th Street East Tuscaloosa on the charge of Robbery 1st Degree. The joint investigation continues and further arrests are expected. The Sheriff’s Aviation Unit assisted in the arrests. Sheriff Ted Sexton stated, “This was outstanding collaborative well-coordinated police work by several agencies that broke up a series of armed robberies and resulted in arrests”.
