Remains confirmed as pregnant Auburn woman; boyfriend charged with murder

AUBURN, Al.
The search is over for missing and pregnant Auburn woman Cherri Dawson.
The remains found on Oct. 25 off of Walker Road in Tallapoosa County have been confirmed as the body of the 31-year-old.

Auburn police say Keith Lemar Ware has been arrested and charged with capital murder in Tallapoosa County, where police believe the crime was committed. He was arrested at his place of business in Opelika.He is being held at the Tallapoosa County jail without bond.
Police confirm Ware was dating Dawson at the time of her death, but wouldn't divulge any other information.
Dawson was last seen Oct. 8 at her grandmother's home in Auburn. Her car was found burned out Oct. 9 near the area where her remains were later found. She was reported missing Oct. 11.
Dawson has a 7-year-old son who is with his father.
Police say the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the Auburn Police Division, Tallapoosa County Sheriff's Office or the Chambers County Sheriff's Office.
