Big Lots cashier stages robbery

 A second person has been identified in Big Lot robbery.

 Joshua Parks, black male, 27 years of age, of South Bell Street was arrested and charged with Second Degree Theft with a $15,000 bond.

Bridgett Ann Pruitt, white female, 27 years of age, of South Bell Street was arrested and charged with Second Degree Theft and Filing a False Report with bond being established later today.
 
On December 14, 2011 the Dothan Police Department responded to an armed robbery in progress at Big Lots, 3121 Ross Clark Circle, just after 10:00 p.m. Dispatchers advised responding officers the cashier stated a black male armed with a pistol, came into the business and approached her at the register demanding money. Upon arrival, police learned from the clerk that she put money in a Big Lots bag and gave it to the suspect who fled on foot. Investigators responded to the scene where information gathered from the clerk and surveillance led them to consider the victim in this case, may in fact be a suspect. Investigators worked quickly in this case, conducting interviews and serving a search warrant at a Dothan residence. When confronted with evidence gathered, the cashier confessed to setting up the robbery. The cashier was arrested and charged for filing a false report and theft. Police have identified the second party involved and are signing warrants against him for theft charges but have not yet released the identity of the man.

 UPDATE:10:30am-  A foot pursuit just occurred on South Bell Street was involving the second person of interest from the Big Lots incident. One adult male was apprehended by a police canine and is in police custody at this time. Investigators responded to the scene, charges are pending.
