Robin Dickens was booked about 3:15 p.m. Tuesday at Mobile County Metro Jail after her arrest earlier in the day, DA spokesman Chad Tucker said.
Bail for Dickens was set at $250,000, according to jail records, which also noted that Dickens identified herself as Robin Marie Carter to jail officials who booked her. Jail records indicated the Mobile County Sheriff's Office made the arrest.
Tucker said the indictment against Dickens was returned by the October session of the Mobile County Grand Jury.
According to the indictment, Dickens was involved in a fatal traffic accident on March 4 on Schillinger Road in Semmes. Deborah Hilliard, 54, also of Semmes, died as a result of the crash, Tucker said.
Alabama State Troopers had stated that Hilliard was driving under the influence of drugs when the wreck occurred, Tucker said.
Online court and jail records indicate Dickens has a lengthy criminal record that dates back as far as 1982 and includes arrests on charges related to theft, receiving stolen property, credit card fraud, drugs, driving under the influence, failure to appear and giving a false name to an officer.
Dickens remained in Metro Jail tonight.
