Day care bus crash in Dothan, no children injured

Dothan, Al.
The Dothan Police Department Traffic Division responded to a day care bus crash in the 2300 block of Denton Road at 2:46 p.m. Monday. A preliminary investigation has revealed the bus had eight children on board at the time of the crash. No injuries were sustained by any of the children on board. The traffic investigator stated the driver of the bus came to a stop in the 2300 block of Denton Road and exited the vehicle in front of a day care. When the driver exited the vehicle, it began rolling backwards at which point the driver attempted to re-enter the bus. The driver was run over by the moving vehicle and sustained moderate injuries. The vehicle continued to travel in reverse crossing Denton Road and Briarwood Drive. The vehicle came to a stop after colliding into a residence. Again, we are confirming only the driver was injured, no children were injured in the collision. The Dothan Police Department returned all children involved to the day care on Denton Road.
