ABI seeks additional information in Barbour County murder

The Alabama Bureau of Information is seeking additional information about an Oct. 8 shooting death that occurred just north of Eufaula in Barbour County.
One person has already been charged with murder in the death of Marvin Nation, 45, of Daleville.

Brandon Ward, 25, of Level Plains was charged last week. Nation’s body was found off Peaceful Valley Church Road in northern Barbour County. He was killed that day, likely near the location where his body was found. However, investigators are still seeking additional information.
Investigators are seeking information about a “possible suspect” who was reportedly with Nation in Eufaula earlier that day, however they are not releasing the name of that person at this time.
According to Lt. Barry Tucker of the ABI ,“Mr. Nation was with a white male in Eufaula on that day and this person may have asked for directions to the Montgomery, Wetumpka, Deatsville I-85 area,”.
“The conversation would have taken place around 3:30-4:30 p.m. near town. Anyone having knowledge of this conversation is asked to contact the Alabama Bureau of Investigation.”
Tucker said that the individual in question could have attended Indian Summer, which was held on Broad Street that day. The conversation reportedly occurred in downtown Eufaula.
Lt. Tucker also said the incident was possibly drug related.Those with information on the individual in question can call the ABI at 334-983-5614 (day) or 334-983-4587 (night) or the Barbour County Sheriff’s Office at 775-1103.
