Opelika Police press release states they are investigating the slaying of a man who was found with gunshot wounds behind an apartment complex.
Police say that 18-year-old Jamal Marcel Butler of Opelika died after being shot in the upper torso.
Police say they found Butler Tuesday afternoon behind an apartment complex on W.E. Morton Avenue. He was taken to the East Alabama Medical Center, where he died.
Opelika police Capt. Allan Elkins also said that a firearm was recovered at the scene.
No one has been arrested in the case. suspected
