Man charged with multiple felonies after sexual assault is reported

MOBILE, Al.
A 21-year-old man was charged with multiple felonies after forennsic evidence linked him to a sexual assault earlier this month, Mobile police said today.

Spokesman Cpl. Christopher Levy said that David Hicks was charged twice with 1st-degree robbery and once each with 1st-degree rape and 1st-degree sodomy.
Hicks was arrested today and taken to Mobile County Metro Jail, where he was held with no bail, Levy said.
According to Levy, a robbery and sexual assault took place Oct. 1 in the 1500 block of Stewart Avenue. Levy said that detectives, with the help of the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences, determined that Hicks was responsible for the incident.
The 2nd robbery charge was related to an incident in 2008, Levy said.
