The Phenix City Police Department responded to a shooting incident early Saturday morning in the 900 block of 4th Street.
Upon arrival, police discovered Anthony Ford, 34, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to Columbus Medical Center where he died a short time later.
Investigation revealed that Ford had been involved in a physical altercation with Cedric Williams, 27, of Phenix City.
Williams turned himself in to police and a handgun has been recovered.
He has been charged with murder and is currently being held at the Russell County Jail with no bond.
