Andalusia Police Chief Wilbur Williams is among those featured in a Discovery Channel episode of Unusual Suspects set to air at 9 p.m. CST tonight., (Oct. 16).
The episode features the story of an 18-year-old freshman, Katharine Foster, who was found shot to death in the woods behind the University of South Alabama campus in Mobile. Detectives took hard looks at several suspects, but it was 30 years before a stunning confession cracked the case.
Williams, who was then a member of the Mobile Police Department, recalled earlier this week that during the initial investigation, autopsy results estimated the time of death hours after Foster was last seen.
When a person of interest in the case took his own life, investigators thought they might solve the murder, but did not.
