Former Ozark Postal Employee Charged With Mail Theft

Ozark, Al.
An Ozark man is free on $25,000 bond after his arrest by U.S. Marshals in connection with mail theft.
Victor Allen Smith, 55, was arrested following his indictment by a federal grand jury on the felony charge of the unlawful delay and opening of a letter and mail entrusted to him as he worked for the U.S. Post Office in Ozark June 3 of this year, according to U.S. Attorney’s Office spokesman Clark Morris.
Smith was no longer employed at the Ozark post office at the time of his arrest, according to the postmaster.
