LITTLE ROCK, Ark.
A movie on the last three days of the life of country performer Hank Williams Sr. that was filmed in Arkansas is to open in limited release.
"The Last Ride" opens Friday in Fayetteville, Fort Smith, Little Rock and Rogers. It will also open in Montgomery, Ala., and in Louisiana at Shreveport and West Monroe.
The movie is to open in wide release in January.
The film was shot in Little Rock in 2010 by Director Harry Thomason and Executive Producer Tim Jackson, who are both from Arkansas. The movie stars Henry Thomas and Jesse James.
Fort Smith television station KFSM reported that a new tax incentive for filmmakers in Arkansas helped land the production.
Williams died on Jan. 1, 1953, at age 29.
