Coroner identifies two victims of Belmont Road in Anniston

Anniston, Al.
Officials have identified two of the three bodies firefighters discovered in the Monday house fire at Belmont Road.

Calhoun County Coroner Pat Brown said Ruby Meads, 74, and her 51-year-old son Richard Wilson are two of the deceased.

Brown said Meads and Wilson died from multiple stab wounds sometime Thursday, Sept. 15.

He did not identify the other male found dead but said Meads and Wilson "died at his hand."

The unidentified man was related to Meads and Wilson, Brown said.

Officials will not release the homicide suspect's identity until after a Huntsville forensics lab has performed an autopsy on his body.

That will happen sometime Wednesday morning, Anniston police Lt. Fred Forsythe said.

The state forensics lab Tuesday performed autopsies on Meads and Wilson.

Police and fire officials discovered the bodies in a Belmont Road rental home that caught fire sometime before 2 p.m. Monday.
