Vases stolen from military gravesites in Wetumpka cemetery

WETUMPKA, Al.
Graves at a Wetumpka cemetery were vandalized as thieves stole dozens of copper vases from headstones this week.
According to the Wetumpka Police, 45 copper vases were stolen from the Pine View Memorial Gardens cemetery on Holtville Road sometime this month.
Reports state that the vases were taken from military graves on the south side of the cemetery, most likely because it is farthest away from the road.
The vases, valued around $5,000, probably were taken for r their scrap metal value. The thieves reportedly left the flowers  in the empty slot where the vases once sat.
