A 17-year-old with a famous name was arrested at Blount High School, charged with robbery

MOBILE, Al.
A 17-year-old with a famous name was arrested today on a robbery charge, Mobile police said.
Telly Savalis Lawson was charged with first-degree robbery and taken to Mobile County Metro Jail after his arrest at Blount High School, police spokesman Cpl. Christopher Levy said.

Lawson was one of 4 youths who attacked and robbed a man who went outside his home in the 8500 block of Crowell Street about 6 a.m. Friday to start his truck, Levy said.
When the victim’s girlfriend came outside, Levy said the 4 took her cell phone after one of the robbers pulled a pistol and fired 2 shots. No one was injured by the gunfire, Levy said.
A search continues for the other 3 robbers. The incident took place in a residential neighborhood northeast of Mobile Regional Airport.
The actor Telly Savalas played the well-known lead role in the long-running television crime drama “Kojak” in the 1970s.
