AUBURN, Alabama -- The Auburn University student who struck a Cary Woods Elementary School first-grader with her car Tuesday will be charged with reckless driving and passing a stopped school bus.
Police are investigating the accident, including whether the 21-year-old driver was on the phone at the time.
The 7-year-old victim was taken to East Alabama Medical Center for minor leg injuries. Auburn Police Division Chief Tommy Dawson told said that the victim remained at home with a parent Wednesday.
The Auburn University student is scheduled to appear in court Dec. 8.
